SCVV is excited to support the South Coastal Library’s 2025 Beach & Bay Cottage Tour. We will be sponsoring one of the seven homes that will be open for in-person tours on July 23 and 24. This is a fantastic opportunity to help raise funds for our local library while also sharing information about SCVV.

We need your assistance. Please consider volunteering as a host inside the assigned house for a brief two-hour shift, either in the morning or the afternoon. You will welcome visitors, provide information about the house, and ensure that foot traffic flows safely inside. Other ways in which you might help include directing guests toward parking.

It is a lot of fun! You don’t have to be an SCVV volunteer, so feel free to invite a friend or a neighbor to join you.

The funds raised during the 33rd Beach & Bay Cottage Tour will go toward providing books, classes, concerts, technology, and other valuable programs for the library and the community. We are pleased to be a part of this effort.

Dine & Donate at Northeast Seafood Kitchen

From the opening at 4:00 p.m. until the last diners at 9:00 p.m. on April 15, Northeast Seafood Kitchen was packed with supporters of the South Coastal Village Volunteers—as well as with other customers looking for a good dinner. Thanks to the generosity of Northeast Seafood in donating a portion of its revenues for the evening, SCVV increased the funds used to support our programs.

Diners enjoyed the lively ambience, congenial company, and delicious food and drinks as they treated themselves to a dinner out while benefiting our Village. Representatives of the SCVV development team, who were responsible for all of the arrangements for the benefit, greeted diners on their arrival and offered information about the South Coastal Village Volunteers.

We are grateful to Northeast Seafood Kitchen for their continuing support.

Attendees at the Northeast Seafood Dine & Donate included John Connor, Jack Gordon, and John Giaquinto.
The evening also brought out Darlene Lewis, Joan Gordon, and Betty and Herb Martin.
Phyllis Alexander and Kathy Thornett took a quiet booth at Northeast.
Donald Sheridan’s table included his brother Joe Sheridan, neighbor and volunteer Jeannie Rubacky, sister-in-law Mary Ellen Sheridan, and Kathy and Donald Sheridan.

The South Coastal Village Volunteers was invited to participate in the Addy Sea’s annual spring benefit for the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Department. This year’s event, held on April 27, marked the third time that SCVV was invited to have an information table.

It was a beautiful day, the setting perfect with rocking chairs on the porch and tables and chairs on the lawn. About 175 people bought tickets to tour the historic bed and breakfast and enjoy the complimentary food and drinks served by local restaurants, along with live musical entertainment.

We are grateful to the Addy Sea for giving us this opportunity to inform the community about who we are and what we do at this wonderful event.
Village representatives Liz Bolton and Betty Martin were able to talk with many attendees to share information about our organization and the services we provide. Rack cards were avail-able, and interested potential volunteers received instructions on how to register online.
